Mission Statement

"Aspire & Achieve" The Vale strives to provide:
  • a secure, welcoming learning environment where the individual needs of all students are recognised;
  • a vibrant, purposeful learning environment where students achieve their very best through committed and motivational teaching;
  • an aspirational learning environment dedicated to high expectations;
  • a positive, supportive community ethos of mutual respect;
  • a philosophy of continuous improvement in every aspect of the college's work and life;
  • for students to become responsible, enthusiastic, independent learners who develop the skills to achieve a happy, healthy and fulfilling life.
In order to become a responsible, enthusiastic and independent learner you will need to use your planner every day you are in college. Your planner is not just a homework diary; it is designed to help you:
  • Plan your work
  • Manage your time
  • Review your progress towards targets
  • Set strategies for improvement
Your planner is a means of communication between you, your tutor, your teachers and your parents/carers. Please make sure that your parents/carers see your planner and sign it every week. Standards of behaviour in college are high. We are very proud of the fact that as students you are polite, friendly, confident and articulate. We receive many positive comments about your conduct from employers, visitors to college and members of the public. To ensure these high standards of behaviour are upheld you must follow the code of conduct.
